Setting Up Profits Traders indicator
Here’s the tutorial showing how we personally set up the indicator. Feel free to use our setup as a reference, but you’re also free to customize it however you prefer. The goal is to make it work best for you and your trading style.
Make sure to select the 30-minute timeframe as recommended, so the signals align correctly with the strategy.
Setting Up TradingView Alerts
If you’re not sure how to set up your alerts properly, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered. Watch the video here to learn exactly how to configure the alerts so you never miss a signal.
You don’t need to keep the TradingView app open to receive signals, but you must set up an alert for the Profits Traders indicator and choose ‘Notification’ and ‘Notify in App’ as your alert options. Even if you close the TradingView app, the signal will still appear in the app’s background on your phone.
Open an Account with a Trusted Broker
Ready to start trading on the forex market but don’t have an account yet? Here are two regulated brokers we recommend to get you started.
Once your account is created, the broker will send you a link to download MetaTrader 4 or 5, along with the login details for your demo and live accounts.
We recommend that you start by following the indicator’s suggestions on a demo account. Once you have fully mastered the process and feel confident in your results, you can then decide whether to move to a live account.
Notices
Please note that the times for alerts and settings are based on Eastern Standard Time (New York time)
If you don’t receive an alert, don’t trade.
Sometimes, trading involves not taking a trade.
Do not take any signals after 3:00 PM.
Do not take any signals at 12:30 AM.
Do not adjust the initial stop loss based on the indicator signal.
If the profits approach the take profit point and you are comfortable with the gain, consider closing the trade.
If you’re not seeing or receiving trade alerts, here are a few possible reasons
Market Conditions Not Met
The strategy only generates signals when all entry conditions are met — this includes the ATR-based SL, risk/reward ratio, volatility filter, and time session. If these aren’t all aligned during market activity, no signal will be shown.
No Trade on Mondays
Based on your settings, trades are only allowed from Tuesday to Friday. If you’re testing on a Monday, no signals will appear by design.
Chart Timeframe
Make sure you’re using the correct timeframe (e.g., 5min, 15min, 1H), as the strategy might be coded to work on specific timeframes only.
Instrument & Broker Time
Ensure you’re using a compatible instrument (like a major forex pair or index) and your chart session hours match the broker’s time zone.
